How 'bout them Cowboyz!

fingers crossedWhat a disappointing game! There is actually not a word adequate to describe that game. Firstly, Tony Romo played an almost perfect game. He passed for 416 yards (total offense was 446), no interceptions and 4 touchdowns. He also got his ass kicked almost every time he touched the ball, and he just jumps up every time. Then Jason Witten. I mean damn! He set the single-season record for receptions by a tight end with his 103rd of the year and his 6th for the game, and he wouldn’t even break focus enough to acknowledge it. He was focused on playing a football game. This is really pretty huge. He holds the distinction with only one other Cowboy receiver of reaching the 100-reception mark with Michael Irvin with 111 in 1995. And he’s a TIGHT END! And Dez went from a mother-slapping thug in my vernacular to a great receiver – at least for a few receptions for a career high of 224 yards! Then Romo stopped throwing to him in the second quarter. The play calling changed.

Brees was great too. I love me the boy from Westlake and am a big fan of his. He is a true man. However, he was not as great as Romo yesterday. Obviously, their defense (previously last in the league) was stronger than our offense by the score of the game, and our defense couldn’t tackle to save their asses, but they made some crucial stops too. In my opinion, it came down to the leadership. It was the play calling, which has significantly improved, but still our team was way out-coached and that’s without Sean Payton at the helm. My god old man Jerry Jones, don’t you see? Fire Jason Garrett! Fire yourself too Jerrah! And Coach Ryan, you might want to spend some time on basics instead of your elaborate schemes. I like them, but your players must be able to tackle to execute your plays! Geez! Fire ‘em all!
mistiscreamingAnd for the record, the officials sucked ass in that game! It is not fun to watch a game where the officials seem more interested in seeing themselves on the big screen than they do in the play of the game. They could have called false start almost every time the Saints snapped the ball. The times they did call it were the same as all the times that they did not call it. Except once it was blatant, and once it was at a crucial time in the game. Then, they called some stupid shit against us too that ended up in momentum changing calls. I mean there was more holding going on than I’ve ever seen in a professional game, and seriously, the Saints false started a whole lot. It is absolutely no fun as a fan to watch the refs play a game, which is what they did yesterday. There were helmet to helmet contacts all over that field that they turned a blind eye to, even though they checked it out on the big screen to see themselves. Then they would turn around and call some petty ass shit the next play. WTF! They were absolutely horrible and worse than any of the replacement officials I ever saw. I would say the same thing even if the Cowboys had won. At some point, all the fans were worried that someone was about to get seriously hurt and the officials were more concerned with their personal appearances and checking themselves out than they were with doing their fucking job. At least the good man upstairs, Roger Goodell, will send out some Christmas cards with $25k fines in them to a few players from that game from both sides. They should fine the refs for that shit too!

On a final note, we all looked good! We were beyond disappointed in the end of the game I must say. There were a lot of fans who brought their kids to the game as a Christmas present. What a shameful display of lack of care. They were out practicing and hustling up against the Steelers. They quite frankly looked hungover yesterday and were moving like sloughs again. The cheerleaders worked harder pregame than they did. It’s just something I’ve noticed. When they are hustling up and looking good pregame, they play much better. I’m sure they all went to the same strip club on Jerrah’s dime Friday night to celebrate their playoff possibilities! Anyway, that is all for my Cowboy ranting for now. We still have playoff hopes! Merry Christmas! saintsfamshot

From where it comes, we'll never know. Borrowed time in borrowed places. Empty stares from empty faces. Free love for sale. Nothing's free. But is the price too high for me...

Today I went for a quick run, and it turned out to be a beautiful run. I started by walking and actually convinced myself to take a walk to get out the door. It didn't take long before a good song kicked in - Khaled's mix of All I Do Is Win! The walk quickly turned into a run. The wind was chilly, but the air was full of moisture, and the temperature was pleasant, so I got my sweat on! There were not many people out. I suppose they are mostly at some parade or park somewhere celebrating MLK Day. I've written all day except for my run. I'm going to write a little more, then I'm going to Whole Foods to find something to make for dinner. My kids have school tomorrow. While it may sound simple, days like today are the best ones on my calendar! I love my kids, love God, love my life, love my business, love my friends, and mostly, I love today. I'm not always so chipper, but I'm trying to stay in the positive right now. Ciao for now!
